Like most people in this crazy world of entrepreneurship and tech she started by getting a totally related degree in Theatre before doing a Post Grad Degree in Education. Charlyne fell into HR, and after five years working in multiple industries (including Tech), she was given the opportunity to run the GrowLab Accelerator Program, which later merged and became HIGHLINE. Charlyne prides herself when people say, "you're not like the HR person I knew from my old company."
She worked alongside some of the top VCs in Canada and heard the feedback they provided to the cohort companies both in regards to business and pitching advice. She became deeply connected across Canada's tech startup scene and still maintains these relationships.
She has been for 7+ years in Vancouver's tech startup scene, and there is no place she would rather be. Charlyne describes herself as a true jack/jill of all trades and has a diverse background to draw from as well as deep connections for where to find answers to the things she doesn't know. Extremely creative- she loves to problem solve and build strategy (work smarter not harder!).
“I'm high energy, and if you take a coffee meeting with me, hang on to your latte cause I talk a LOT with my hands.”
