Discovery Foundation Technology Education Program
Volition is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded $25,000 as an agent of the Discovery Foundation’s Technology Education Program (TEP). This award recognizes the work that Volition has done to build connectivity, capacity, and knowledge within startup ecosystems within and beyond B.C.
The Discovery Foundation, a registered charity founded in 1979, is committed to facilitating the inclusive development and sustainability of BC’s technology sector. In 2010 the Discovery Foundation launched the Technology Education Program, which funds agent-run programs and events across BC that serve to promote and accelerate tech entrepreneurship in the province. We are proud to join nine other industry actors as Discovery Foundation Agents for 2021.
At Volition, TEP funds will support the delivery of Discovery Foundation’s Regional Investor Readiness Program throughout 2021. This Program offers entrepreneurs across B.C. in the technology industry an opportunity to accelerate their business and investor readiness skills through pitch masterminds, one-on-one coaching, and B.C. Pitch Showcases.
While programming will be open to all entrepreneurs in the province, priority will be given to Indigenous, Black, and racialized entrepreneurs, and startups in rural and remote areas, and 50% of the funding has been dedicated to support and advance entrepreneurs who identify as women.
Stay tuned for further details on how to access this programming as a partner or entrepreneur in B.C.
